How to add a favicon to your site

What is a favicon?

A favicon is the little image that appears in your browser tab, as pictured below:

As you see, the favicon is just a tiny image that helps you establish your brand online. Here are the steps to creating a favicon and uploading it to your eCatholic website.

1

Create your favicon

You'll need to use image editing software to create your favicon. When creating a favicon, make it 32x32 pixels at most and save it as a PNG image.

Once you have your 32x32 px PNG file on hand, it is recommended you convert it to an ICO file for maximum compatibility. You can use a free online file converter like convertico.com to easily convert a PNG to an ICO.

2

Upload your favicon to your website

Uploading a favicon to your eCatholic website is simple: Navigate to Administration > Settings > Browser Tab > Browse/Choose File and upload your ICO file. (The video below demonstrates this process.)

Once your ICO file has successfully uploaded, remember to click Save/Publish at the bottom of the screen. Congratulations! You just updated your website's favicon.

Note: Your new favicon may not instantly refresh. If the new favicon doesn't appear right away, try refreshing your cache.
