When should I promote students?

Users frequently ask whether they should use the Promote Students function before or after opening up Religious Ed registration for the upcoming year.

It is important to promote your most recent RE students before opening registration for next year. Whether your parish uses our online registration or registers students manually, student data will be negatively impacted if you open registration and promote students afterward.

Promoting your most recent RE students prior to opening registration will keep your student data intact and will not prevent you from making necessary edits to your RE information. Absences can still be added to classes. The Completed Flag box can be unchecked to make changes to classes, if needed.
