Personalize a message with variables (merge tags / dynamic content)
With eCatholic Connect you can empower your ministry with personalized communication. This allows you to send personalized messages that address each member of your community by name.
In Connect, this is called inserting a variable in a message. You may also know these as as merge tags or dynamic content.
To begin, navigate to the message composer and click the down arrow / See more button to reveal the second row of formatting options. Within the second row is where you will find the Variable option.
Hover your cursor over the Variable option to display the following options:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Full Name
Click your preferred variable to insert it into the message.
Once your message is sent, the variable will by dynamically replaced with the recipient's information:
Want to customize your subject line?
You can also insert a variable into your message's subject line! To do this, you'll need to manually type (or paste) the appropriate variable into the Subject field for your message.
The variable values that will be recognized in the Subject field are:
- First Name -
{{recipient_given_name}} - Last Name -
{{recipient_family_name}} - Full Name -
{{recipient_full_name}}
