Setting navigation links (internal & external)
Clicking on Site Map in the blue Admin Toolbar opens the Site Map Editor. This is where you can easily create links in your site's navigation menu.
How to create a link in the Site Map Editor
Locate the Link icon in the Site Map Toolbar
First, open the Site Map Editor by clicking Site Map in the blue Admin Toolbar. The Site Map Toolbar is located at the bottom of the Site Map Editor; the Link icon is outlined with an orange border (illustrated above).
Drag and drop the Link icon into the Site Map Editor
Click and drag the Link icon into the Site Map Editor (illustrated above). Drop the element exactly where you want it to appear in your navigation menu. You will then be prompted to finish creating the new link by defining certain details.
When creating links, you will need to define the following:
- Link Name - The title that appears in your site's navigation menu
- Link Type - External links direct visitors to a page that is not part of your website; Internal links direct visitors to a page within your website
- Link URL - The destination to which you would like to send visitors
- Display in Navigation - Toggle to On if you would like the link to be visible in your navigation menu.
Once you've entered all the required information, click Save to create the link. Once you Save and Exit the Site Map, be sure to test the link in your navigation.
