Uploading Documents for high-volume downloads

Sometimes big announcements happen, so here's a quick power user tip for uploading documents with high-volume downloads. (press releases, big announcements, etc.) You'll want to make sure you follow these easy steps to utilize the capabilities within the eCatholic platform.

Upload files directly in the "File Manager"

To upload a file directly into your site's File Manager, log in and click Files on the Admin Toolbar.

Once the File Manager interface opens, locate the blue Upload Documents button in the Documents tab. Click it to begin the upload process.

Next, navigate to the file on your computer and select the file you want to upload.

NOTE: If the file's size is less than 1 MB (recommended), it should upload in just a few seconds. If the file's size is greater than 1 MB, it could take a moment to upload to your site.

Copy the permalink of the document

When you're ready to link this document in other parts of your website, you'll need the document permalink. To copy the permalink, click on the "magnifying glass" icon of the document you just uploaded.

In this case, for example, you'll only want to copy the "/documents/2019/1/important-document.pdf" part of the URL. 

Once the permalink is copied, you are ready to paste it wherever you'd like in your eCatholic website.
