How to Use Diocesan Sharing

Diocesan Sharing is a powerful tool that is available to (arch)dioceses that have purchased a Diocesan Initiative with eCatholic.

Diocesan Sharing allows for the diocese to create content on their diocesan site and share that content down to all of the parishes, schools or ministries that are part of their Diocesan Initiative.

To share a module down from your diocesan website:

Log in and navigate to the module you would like to share

Log in with your Admin User credentials, then go to the page with the specific module you would like to share. For example, if you'd like to share content from your homepage, navigate to your homepage.

Select the Sharing Arrow in the upper right hand corner of the module

Hover over the module you would like to share and click the Sharing Arrow in the upper right hand corner of the module.

Edit module's Sharing Settings

You now have the option to edit several of this module's sharing settings. The Sharing Settings allow you to:

• Toggle on Sharing. When Sharing in toggled on and that change has been published, this module will appear in the content tray of the site's who you have chosen to share the module to
• Add a Module Icon Title.
• Add a Module Icon Tooltip Description. The Tooltip Description allows you to explain a bit more about the specific module being shared.
• Share to specific organizations. You have the ability to share content down to all entities in your diocese that are using eCatholic websites, or just parishes, just schools, or just ministries.
• Add a Module Icon. The Module Icon in the image that will display in the Content Tray for this specific module once shared

Publish your changes

Once you have saved your preferred Sharing Settings you are free to Publish the changes on your page and your module will be shared! Now, in the Shared tab of your content tray you will be able to preview the module you have shared. From the top level site that is sharing the content, the module will only be available for preview only.

The Parishes, Schools or Ministries you have shared the module with will now see the module in the Shared category in their content tray and will have the ability to add the module to any page on their site:
