How to edit the 2FA method for your account
- Log in to your account - Go to app.ecatholic.com and log in with your current login email.
- Go to the My Profile screen - Once logged in, go to the User Profile dropdown (top right corner of the screen) and click My Profile.
- Click the Edit /Set Up button for 2FA - On the My Profile screen, go to the Login & Security section and locate the 2FA Method field, then click Edit / Set Up.
You may either a) update your current 2FA method or b) set up a new 2FA method.
For example, if your account is currently configured to receive a 2FA code via text message, you can:
- Click Edit to use a different phone number for 2FA, or
- Click Set Up next to the Authenticator App option to change your 2FA method from text message to authenticator app.
Changing your 2FA phone number
If your account is already configured to receive a 2FA code via text message via a different number, click Edit to begin. You'll then be prompted to enter the number and verify that you own and have access to that number by entering a verification code that is texted to the number.
Changing your authenticator app
If your account is already configured for 2FA via authenticator app, click Edit to begin. You'll then be prompted to scan a QR code with a different authenticator app. Once you enter the verification code from the new authenticator app, your account will be updated to use the new app for authentication.
Changing from 2FA via text message to 2FA via authenticator app (and vice versa)
On the My Profile screen, click Set Up next to the 2FA method you'd like to configure for your account. Then follow the steps for either a) entering a mobile number for 2FA via text message or b) scanning a QR code to set up an authenticator app.
