How to log in to your website with eCatholic ID
What is eCatholic ID?
Your eCatholic ID is a single eCatholic account, used only by you, which gives you access to all of your products on the eCatholic platform. It incorporates 2FA to ensure your account is secure by today's standards.
An eCatholic ID uses:
- Password
- One-time code sent via text message or authenticator app
- The one-time code can be skipped for 30 days by choosing "Remember this device"
Your eCatholic ID replaces your legacy website login, if you had a user account on an eCatholic website prior to January 2025.
How do I log in with my eCatholic ID?
First, navigate to your website. Then, scroll to the very bottom of your website and click the "Login" link, next to "powered by eCatholic":
If any users on your website have not set up their eCatholic ID, you will see two login options in the dialog box that pops up:
- Log in with eCatholic ID
- Log in with username and password*
*The username and password option (legacy login) will be retired in early 2025.
Click the "Log in with eCatholic ID" button
If you have already created your eCatholic ID...
Enter your email, password, and 2FA code (if prompted)
If you have not created your eCatholic ID...
Click the "Sign Up Now" link under "Don't have an account?"
What email address should my eCatholic ID use? When creating your eCatholic ID, use the same email address currently attached to your website user account, or at which you received your invitation to edit the website. Otherwise, your eCatholic ID will not be able to access your website permissions.
Updating your website email address: If you have a legacy login (i.e. username + password) and have not yet set up your eCatholic ID, you can confirm or adjust the email address on your website user account by logging in with username + password and following these instructions.
If you were invited to edit the website but your admin used the wrong email, they will need to re-add you using the correct email.

What if I have never logged in before?
If you are a new administrator, publisher, or author on your eCatholic website, you will receive an email notifying you of your username and a password creation link.
If you created a password that you can no longer remember, you can follow the login steps above, then select "Reset Password" at the bottom of the login screen. From there, you will enter your username:
Follow the instructions in your email to reset your password!
What do I do if I don't know my username?
You will be sent your username in your initial "Welcome to eCatholic" email! You can refer back to that email, ask the administrator on the site, or email us at [email protected] and we can let you know what your username is.
What do I do if I don't know my password?
Because passwords are encrypted upon creation, we are not able to retrieve forgotten passwords! You can reset your password using the above steps.
